Snap Floaters

Snap Floaters are a modular magnetic art display system consisting of a handcrafted Baltic birch wood art panel and a matching mini floater frame. The panel snaps securely into the frame using powerful hidden magnets, creating a polished gallery-style display without visible clips, screws or mounting hardware.

Unlike a traditional floater frame that is normally assembled around one permanent artwork, Snap Floaters allow the panel to be installed, removed, exchanged or rearranged in seconds. The frame can remain on the wall or tabletop while the artwork is changed whenever desired.

The recessed frame design leaves a clean, consistent gap around the art panel. This shadow gap makes the artwork appear to float inside the frame and visually separates the artwork from the surrounding finish.

Artists, collectors, photographers, designers and retailers can purchase additional panels and reuse the same frames, or change frame finishes to create different presentations for the same artwork.

How the Snap Floater System Works

The system has two main components:

1. A removable Baltic birch art panel.
2. A matching magnetic mini floater frame.

The artwork is painted, printed, transferred or mounted on the removable wood panel. When the completed panel is placed inside its matching floater, hidden magnets pull it into position and hold it securely.

The panel can be removed by hand whenever the artwork needs to be changed. No tools are required, and there are no clips, brackets or screws attached to the visible face of the panel.

Panels of the same shape and size can be exchanged between matching frames. The frame becomes a reusable display platform, while completed art panels can be changed in seconds.

How the Panels and Floaters Are Made

Snap Floater art panels and frames are made from 1/4-inch Baltic birch plywood. Each component is precision cut using a CO2 laser.

Rather than producing the entire depth from one solid piece of wood, individually cut plywood layers are aligned and permanently glued together. This creates the required frame depth, panel recess and internal magnetic structure.

After cutting, the layers are checked, aligned, glued and pressed together to form a strong, lightweight finished component.

How the Magnetic Attachment Works

Snap Floaters use small, strong permanent rare-earth magnets installed inside precision-cut openings in the panel backing and corresponding areas of the floater frame.

The magnets are permanently secured and hidden from the finished front view. The attraction aligns the removable panel while still allowing it to be lifted out by hand when the artwork needs to be changed.

Only panels and frames made for the same shape, size and magnet arrangement should be interchanged.

Available Frame Finishes

Snap Floater frames are available in several finishes, including:

Natural Baltic birch displays the wood grain and layered construction. Matte and metallic finishes provide alternative presentations while the removable panel remains independent from the frame.

Wall and Tabletop Display

Snap Floaters can be mounted using suitable wall hardware or the supplied magnetic/adhesive mounting solution where appropriate. The artwork panel can still be removed from the front without taking the frame off the wall.

Rectangle, pentagon and hexagon floaters can also be suitable for free-standing display when they have a stable bottom edge and are placed on a level surface.

Always choose wall hardware suitable for the wall material. Adhesive mounting should be used only on clean, smooth and compatible surfaces.
